Warns
Rear While this was a prototype installation, they are in full production now and offer kits for all Jeep AMC 20, Dana 35C, Dana 44 and even Dana 60 rears. Contact Warn or your dealer if you have another application to see if that is covered. . You get the one piece full-floater axles with hubs, spindles and locking hubs plus the bearings, gaskets and even nifty Russell automatic bleeder screws for your brake cylinders! Everything entirely bolt-on. The axles are LARGE at 1 5/16 diameter, have 30 splines at each end (unless your spider gears have a different number) and are made of 4340 chrome moly nickel aircraft alloy. Due to the full floater design, the axles bear no weight of the vehicle. The weight bears on the custom super-strong wheel hubs made by Warn for this application. You can slide the axles in and out without even jacking up the vehicle if you should ever break one. You can unlock the rear hubs for towing or just in case you want to check your brake drag without spinning your whole rear end. (Dont let your passenger unlock them along with the fronts after a trail ride. You wont go anywhere!) There are no external bolts to come loose and they are very easy to clean with their smooth, sanitary look. Front Once installed, they look exactly like the rear. Inside they are almost the same, however they use 27 spline inner drive gears to match your front axle, rather than the larger 30 spline gears of the rear. You can get the larger 30 spline fronts if you like also. With the 27 spline, you use your old spindle and wheel studs. Warn does not supply new bearings for the front, so you could use your old ones if you dont want to replace them once you have them out. You should also get a new spindle seal, although you could use your old one if you are careful enough when you take it out (I wouldnt). There are two sizes of bearings in the front, depending on whether you have drum or disk brakes. The Warn hub will work with either size because the outer diameter is the same. If you have disk brakes, youll have to get your wheel studs pressed into the new hubs through your old rotor, not necessary if you have the older drum brakes in front. It is a good idea to have the disk brake rotor trued at this time to assure the best brakes when you are done. Four Wheeler Supply had no trouble installing these very complete kits in Jaybirds CJ and the results looked great! So far, these are just for Jeep vehicles, but who knows what Warn has up their sleeve next? It looks as though Warn has another winner here!
